Insurance & Billing
We accept all major insurance plans and are committed to making your care as accessible as possible.
- Do not use your rescue inhaler (short-acting bronchodilator, such as albuterol) for at least 4 hours before the test — unless it is medically necessary to do so.
- Do not smoke for at least 4 hours before the test.
- Avoid heavy meals in the 2 hours before the test. A light snack is fine.
- Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. Tight clothing around the chest or abdomen can affect your breathing.
- Continue all other medications as normal unless Milos has specifically instructed you otherwise.
- If you have any questions about which medications to take or skip before your test, please call our office ahead of time.
- Bring comfortable sleepwear and toiletries for an overnight stay.
- Bring any medications you normally take in the evening or at night.
- Avoid caffeine (coffee, tea, energy drinks, soda) for the entire day of your study.
- Do not nap on the day of the study — it’s important that you be ready to sleep at your normal bedtime.
- Wash and dry your hair before you arrive. Please do not use any hair products such as gels, sprays, mousse, or dry shampoo — these can interfere with the sensors used to monitor your brain activity and sleep stages.
- Arrive at the facility at your scheduled check-in time.
Before Your Breathing Test (PFT / Spirometry)
A pulmonary function test (PFT) or spirometry measures how well your lungs work. To get the most accurate results, please follow these instructions on the day of your test:
Preparing for Your Sleep Study
If you’ve been scheduled for a sleep study, here’s how to prepare:
For an In-Lab Sleep Study
For a Home Sleep Test
Detailed instructions will be provided when the device is given to you. If you have any questions before your test night, please don’t hesitate to call our office.
Your Medical Records
Sending records to our office
If you have records at another provider’s office — including imaging, lab results, or specialist notes — please ask that provider to send them to us before your appointment. Records can be sent by fax to [fax number] or by mail. Having your prior records on hand helps Milos give you a more complete evaluation at your very first visit.
HIPAA-compliant records requests
All medical records transfers are handled in accordance with HIPAA privacy standards. You will be asked to sign a written authorization (Release of Medical Records form) before we can request records on your behalf. We coordinate directly with your other providers to make this process as easy as possible.
Coordinating your care
We are committed to working as part of your care team. If you’d like us to share your visit notes or test results with your primary care provider or another specialist, simply let us know and we will handle the coordination.
