Background & Training
Milos Tomic’s path to pulmonary medicine was shaped by years at the bedside in some of the most demanding clinical environments — medical-surgical wards and critical care units — where he developed a deep understanding of how lung disease affects every aspect of a patient’s life.
After earning his Bachelor of Science in Nursing with honors, Milos went on to complete his Master of Science in Nursing at the University of Connecticut in 2018, becoming a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. He then built a focused clinical practice in pulmonary medicine and sleep medicine, working closely with patients managing COPD, asthma, pulmonary fibrosis, sleep apnea, and other complex respiratory conditions.
In 2023, Milos added certification in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine — a natural extension of his belief that the best patient care draws on every effective tool available, Eastern and Western alike.
How Milos Approaches Care
I've seen firsthand what happens when patients feel rushed, unheard, or unable to communicate clearly with their provider. I built this practice to be different — a place where we take the time to truly understand what you're experiencing, explain what's happening in your body, and create a plan we build together.
Milos approaches each patient as a whole person. A treatment plan at Advanced Pulmonary Care may combine an inhaler regimen with acupuncture, or a CPAP prescription with herbal support — always guided by evidence, always tailored to the individual.
Speaking Your Language
Born from a background that bridges cultures, Milos understands the profound difference it makes when a patient can speak openly with their provider in their native language. He is fully fluent in English, Serbian, Bosnian, Croatian, and Montenegrin, and welcomes patients from Connecticut’s South Slavic diaspora community.
No interpreter needed. No details lost. Just honest, clear communication between patient and provider.
